CUMC Family,

We will once again be participating in the Appalachian Christmas Shoe Box Project. This project is separate from the Appalachian Christmas Project you see below (but you may still give to this project). The goal of the shoe box project is to collect needed items to fill a shoe box. The shoe boxes will then be given to recipients as gifts for Christmas. Below are some priority and optional items you may include in your shoe box.

Priority Items:

  • Disposable Razors
  • Calendars
  • Shaving Cream
  • Bar soap
  • Shampoo
  • Toothbrush/Toothpaste
  • Deodorant
  • Washcloth
  • Purse Size Kleenex
  • Comb/Brush
  • Q-tips
  • Cotton Balls
  • Notepads/Pencils/Pens

Optional Items:

  • Stamps/Envelopes
  • Chapstick/Vaseline
  • First Aid Cream
  • Magnifying Glass
  • Knee Highs
  • Hand Lotion
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Nail Clippers/Tweezers
  • Jar Grips/Pot Scratcher
  • Small Puzzle Book
  • Denture Cleaner

Please return your box wrapped (no bows/ribbons!) with a signed Christmas card inside. Please mark the box with an “L” for ladies, “M” for men, “E” for either, “B” for a boy child, or “G” for a girl child. Shoe boxes are available at the church for those who do not have one.

All boxes are due at the church no later than Sunday, November 19th. Thank you in advance for helping those in need and helping to bring a little joy to someone in need this Christmas.
