Christ United Methodist Church, in collaboration with First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church, invites families to:
TRUE NORTH: TRUSTING JESUS IN A WILD WORLD
True North will be hosted at Christ United Methodist Church, 1232 National Rd., Wheeling, WV, from Sunday, July 20th, to Thursday, July 24th, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Registration and an optional dinner at 5:30 p.m.
At True North, kids discover what it means to trust Jesus in a wild world! Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible Adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of Jesus’ love, and test out sciency-fun experiments they’ll never forget.
Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes with a Celebration and Compass Closing —a time of upbeat worship that gets everyone involved and living what they’ve learned. Family members and friends are encouraged to join during this time.
To register your child or children for this year’s VBS, look out for registration forms at one of the participating churches – Christ United Methodist Church, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church. You may also register electronically below, or by registering at the door at the commencement of VBS on Sunday, July 20th at 5:30 p.m.
Please fill in all fields!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We’ve got the curriculum, we’ve set the dates, we ordered our supplies – now all we need is YOU! There is a place at VBS for everyone so think about what you’d like to do this year to help provide a wonderful, faith-filled experience for our children! We still need volunteers for the following:
- Crafts
- Games
- Snacks
- Crew leaders (lead children from station to station)
- Restroom Monitors
- Decorating
- Meals on Monday/Wednesday for our optional dinner from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m.
Because there will be new churches and people attending the ecumenical event, we will have a short training session on Sunday, July 13th at 12:30 p.m. so we can review the schedule, job responsibilities, and expectations, and provide a ‘mini’ Safe Sanctuaries workshop as well.
If you have any questions, please contact Diann Nickerson at nickerson246@gmail.com or Tammy Tomazoli at ttomazoli@yahoo.com.
